Day 120 / 365Beer in Light Cube
Because I showed interest in photography by telling my boss that I would like to tag along at any future photo shoots to look at the behind the scenes, he made me the designated photographer among my department. He wanted me to take pictures of various beer cans individually, as well as a gas gift card and a red sweatshirt for a giveaway promotion at one of the hotels my company owns.
My department has a photo light cube that professional photographers use for product photography. You basically put the image inside the cube and place 2 light stands on both sides outside the cube. Unfortunately, there was only one bulb for one of the light stands, so I can only use one light source.
Since my boss designated me as the department photographer, I figured I should learn lighting. Instead of just taking a regular picture of the beer on top of a desk, I decided to use the light cube. I figured it would help my co-workers with clipping the background in Photoshop. Also, it’s just sitting underneath a desk and it’s hardly used.
Here is the result of one of the pictures with the light cube with some color-corrections from Photoshop.
